The BBB Career Event Foundation is completely run by students. Each year, a board of approximately six volunteering students is formed to organise events that help students to prepare for their future. Being a board member is a very interesting extracurricular experience. All board members are students at the Faculty of Science of the Radboud University.

President
The president is ultimately responsible for the well-being and vision of the foundation. They make sure the board stays on schedule with their work so that every domain the BBB works in is improved. The task of president is a versatile one, because you have to know for every board member what they are working on, whether they are on track and if not, how to fix that. It is an interesting combination of policy formation, people management and problem-solving.
The president also functions as a spokesperson for the foundation and keeps contact with many organs both inside the university and beyond.
An effective president has vision, a good overview of most situations and people skills. They also know how to work hard and how to make decisions.
Seyma Gunel
Vice President & Secretary
The vice president of the BBB Career Event Foundation assists the president when needed but also fulfills various other tasks. As the board member with only small fixed duties I am flexible to call companies, design the career book and think about innovations to make our events even better. Furthermore it’s my task to implement the first version of the Workshop Week this year.
Vice president is a position with loads of freedom and variation, the only limit is your own ambition.
The secretary is concerned with everything that needs to be communicated. These include keeping our inbox in check by labelling all incoming emails, writing the weekly minutes during our meetings or communicating with other boards. It’s a very social function, where you are always talking to somebody or bringing people together.
A secretary has to be very comfortable being around people and know their way with words. A good secretary makes sure all matters are communicated clearly, correctly and documented properly.
Arthur Ramaekers
Treasurer
The treasurer takes care of the money of the BBB career event. You start the year by making a “budget plan” in which you try to fit all the ideas of your board members. During the year you keep track on this budget plan by managing the incomes and expenses. You check whether you’re still on schedule and whether there is the possibility to spend or save some more moneys. Besides doing the bookkeeping, there is space to do some other tasks within the board.
To become a treasurer, it is not needed to already have bookkeeping skills, but it is favourable to be precise and ordered.
Sjeng Vullers
Account manager
The account manager is responsible for the acquisition of companies, as well as maintaining relations with existing partners. Whenever a company has a request, they are the one that should be contacted.
An account manager should be bold and must be a good negotiator. The acquisition process is hard work, and no should not easily be taken for an answer. All the while they have to make sure they are not pushing too much. The account manager balances on this fine line on a daily basis.
Kimberley Frings
Logistics
The logistics manager is ultimately responsible or the set up of the events. It’s her job to realise the vision of the board, while taking into account the wishes of the companies and visitors. An event for more than 1000 people takes a lot of logistical managing, and important tasks are to design a proper floor plan, making scripts for the board and volunteers, and obtaining the right reservations and licenses. It’s all about understanding people and their behaviour, and giving them a wonderful day at the event about which they will talk about long after. The biggest compliment you can get as a logistics manager is when you’ve heard no one complaining but when everyone is smiling.
Logistics manager is a function where creativity, a solution-driven attitude and structure must converge.

PR & IT manager
As the PR manager you are responsible for designing all promotion for the BBB foundation. Besides the promotion, every other task which would require designing skills are also in the PR Manager’s responsibility. Although it is up to you to come up with the ideas and the designs, it does not mean that the PR position is independent. You discuss the designs and promotion ideas with the rest of your board members. It is also up to you to attract students through the social media accounts of BBB and keep them up to date on the upcoming events through different platforms.
It is important that you are creative and trust in your imagination for this position since that is your only limit.
